Sagkeeng First Nation is calling for tenders for construction of about 80 m of shoreline erosion protection on Traverse Bay near Bruyere Point (Zone 14 U, 689344 E, 5611765 N). The work is to be completed over the remainder of this winter (2025) until weather conditions no longer permit shoreline work. Major components of the work include: Excavate bank along shoreline and dispose of spoil on-site (760 m3) Install and place geotextile along graded bank (650 m2) Construct erosion protection using material produced by others and stockpiled on site (about 850 tonnes of 600 mm down riprap and 600 tonnes of 150 mm down crushed granular). Site restoration (using topsoil, seed, and erosion control blankets) Tenders will be opened immediately following bid closing and read at TREKs office in Winnipeg. A Bid Security in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of Total Bid Price shall accompany the tender. Contract security and bid bonds will be required by the successful bidder as outlined in the tender. The Work to be completed under this Contract shall consist of constructing erosion protection estimated to extend 80 m from the current protected shoreline in the areas indicated on Drawing 01. The Work is to be completed over this winter (2025).
