The Town of St. Albans, Vermont (the Town), with financial assistance provided by the State Natural Resources Conservation Council through the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation Clean Water Investment Program, requests bids from qualified contractors to implement a culvert replacement and water quality improvements at a stream crossing on Fairfax Street in St. Albans. Details of the project are provided on the following pages and in the attached construction drawings prepared by Fitzgerald Environmental Associates (FEA). A project timeline is provided below. Instructions for submission of the bid sheet are also provided below. Summary of Work: This project consists of a culvert replacement and water quality improvement work at a stream crossing under Fairfax Street in St Albans. Work includes installing a Contech aluminum pipe arch, stabilizing an undercut stream bank, and road repaving as part of site restoration. The contractor will perform the work with an understanding of potential utility conflicts and permitting restrictions (defined limits of disturbance). A municipal waterline is located near the culvert and must be located (location and depth) prior to construction by the contractor. The Town will close Fairfax Street as needed during construction. Signage shall be installed by the contractor to inform drivers of the road closures.
