The Bedford County Department of Public Works is seeking licensed and qualified contractors to add an exterior entrance and perform minor alterations to the Community Development offices at the County's Administration building. Time of substantial Completion: One-hundred eighty (180) calendar days from notice to proceed; final completion shall be fourteen (14) calendar days thereafter. Contractor will have the option to request adjustment of these times based on material availability and lead times. Contractor shall have the option to provide documentation from major suppliers within seven days of notice of intent to award contract along with schedule showing impacts to adjust time to substantial completion. This will also be used as a base line in case lead times are further adjusted during construction due to factors out of the Contractor's control. If this occurs, completion dates will be renegotiated based on new lead times and deliveries estimated by suppliers. Time extensions due to lead time issues shall not constitute a change order for additional general condition fees to the Owner. Payment and Performance Bond is required in accordance with above Paragraph 14, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Liquidated Damages: One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per day for the first fourteen calendar days after the date set for final completion; then Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day thereafter.
