The removal of the existing hot water boiler, pumps, air separator, expansion tanks and replacement with new high efficiency hot water boilers at the elementary school. Boiler replacement shall include new boilers, hot water system pumps, air separator, expansion tank, piping, pipe insulation, electrical connections for equipment, miscellaneous demolition and concrete work within the existing boiler room. The project will also include an extension of the existing building temperature controls system for connection to the boiler plant and pump controls. A $100.00 deposit or current MBI/ABC Plans Request Card, made payable to South Winneshiek Community School District, is required which will provide for a complete paper copy of the drawings and Project Manual specifications. Any shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the bidder. Bidders have the option to download electronic documents in lieu of the paper copy. Plan deposits will be refunded upon the return of the documents, in good condition to Action Reprographics within 10 days of the bid date. Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the plan deposit. Bids must be on a lump sum basis. Shop Drawings and Procurement to begin April 15, 2025, Work on Site will begin May 26, 2025, and be substantially complete on or before October 15, 2025. Final Acceptance of the Project shall be on or before November 15, 2025. Each bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid submitted. Bid Security must in one of the following: Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Bank Draft of Surety Company Bond Form and submitted in a separate sealed envelope clearly labeled Bid Security. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. The Board of Education of the South Winneshiek CSD reserves the right to conduct such investigations as allowed by law to assist in the evaluation of and to establish the responsibility and qualifications of the apparent low bidders to perform the work in accordance with the contract documents to its satisfaction within the prescribed time.
