The City of Pomona Water Resources Department is seeking bids for supply and delivery of sodium chloride (salt) for potable water treatment, purchases will be made on an as-needed basis. The expected term of agreement shall be fixed for five (5) years from date of Council award. Other Details The City of Pomona Water Resources Department estimates its annual usage of sodium chloride to be estimated at approximately 7,000 tons per year. The City also anticipates the addition of three (3) brine maker tanks to be built by the end of calendar year 2026. To ensure operational readiness, the City seeks to secure the availability of an additional 7,000 tons of sodium chloride once brine maker tanks are in service. Sodium Chloride is to be delivered in quantities of approximately 25 tons per shipment to City location identified below. Annual tonnage quantities are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Quantities may increase or decrease based on need. Notes The expected term of agreement shall be fixed for five (5) years from date of Council award. It is at the City's discretion to award to one or multiple vendors for the delivery of sodium chloride, should there be a supply chain disruption or unforeseen needs. This will ensure that the City can still secure sodium chloride in the event of unforeseen supply chain issues.
