Renovation of a swimming pool in Zion, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
As of 4/15/25, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded 4/18/25. To replace new heater at Port Shiloh Pool, as specified. SCOPE OF WORK K. The Port Shiloh Pool is a seasonal public pool facility with two (2) individual pools, a Lap Pool (200,000 gallons) and an Activity Pool (40,000 gallons). Heater to be replaced was installed in 2019, and has reached its useful life and requires replacement. Current heaters are Raypak and are fueled by natural gas. The location for the heater is 1501 Shiloh Boulevard, Zion, IL 60099. L. Removal of existing fencing as needed to install new heater in place. M. Disconnect existing heater from the existing electrical supply, pool water supply and gas piping; TO BE DONE ZPD N. Remove, haul away and legally dispose of existing heater: TO BE DONE ZPD O. Furnish and install one (1) new Lochinvar CPN1802 pool heater with outdoor venting option. P. Reconnect existing electrical connections for heater and booster pump including reconnecting the existing bonding. Q. Replace/Reconnect the existing CPVC pool water piping for the heater. R. Reconnect gas piping as required for new heater. Existing heater has 1.25" gas connection. New heaters require 2", it is assumed that the main supply from the meter is 3". Where it tees off to the heaters is 2" and will remain 2" to the new heater connection. S. Reinstall existing fencing as it was. T. Install temperature sensors and safety limiting devices as required. U. Start-up and confirm correct gas pressure, gas volume and operation of heater. V. Contact IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) for inspection once completed. Zion Park District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the bid most advantageous to Zion Park District. The Owner has determined that the work is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Port Shiloh Pool currently has two (2) Raypak outdoor, uncovered boilers/heaters (1 is 30years old and 1 is 5years old) that heat two separate swimming pools. Heater units heat a 40,000 gallon Activity pool and a 200,000 gallon Lap Pool. Existing heaters utilize natural gas. The Zion Park District is seeking proposals to complete all work necessary to provide a reliable and efficient natural gas fueled pool heating system prior to August 16, 2025.
