Roofed Manure & Animal Heavy Use Area Stabilization Project The project entails construction of a roofed manure storage and animal heavy use area at an existing beef barn site. The project is divided into three contracts- one for excavation, one for concrete, and one for construction. Carney Cattle reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. This project is divided into three contracts which are more fully described below and also in the enclosed drawings. Any contractor may bid on more than one contract. o Excavation Contract o Concrete Contract o Building Contract The successful contractors will be involved in the installation of a 46' x 240' roofed heavy use area and manure stacking building and related Best Management Practices (BMPs). The project also includes but is not limited to: concrete heavy use areas, access lanes, a waterway and underground outlet pipes. The proposed BMPs are to be constructed in the areas shown on the plans. The contractor may be asked to sign a statement certifying that the installed components meet or exceed the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) standards and specifications. The proposed facility is to be installed on a farm operated by Daniel Carney, in this document referred to as "The Landowner". The intended purpose of the project is to provide a stabilized area to feed beef cattle and provide adequate manure storage during the winter when crops cannot utilize the nutrients from the manure. This will allow The Landowner to spread manure during appropriate times of the year when weather is favorable, when field conditions are good, and when crops can best utilize the nutrients in the manure.
