Supply approximately 300 tons of Sodium Hydroxide 25% (Caustic Soda 25%) annually to Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) as required. The quantity is a good faith estimate based on previous and/or anticipated usage. FPUA reserves the right to purchase more or less than that quantity to conform to the actual need. FPUA reserves the right to reject, at the vendor's expense, any shipment of Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) which fails to meet the chemical and/or physical requirements of this specifications. Delivered Sodium Hydroxide shall meet the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standard B501-19 for Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda). Further, it shall contain no soluble material or organic substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of those consuming water that has been treated properly with the sodium hydroxide. Delivered Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) shall have the following characteristics: Specific Gravity @ 60 F of between 1.267-1.289 NaOH, Wt % by conversion of between 24%-26% A Certificate of Analysis (COA) shall accompany each delivery and at a minimum shall state the specific gravity, Wt. %, and that the delivered Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) meets all provisions and is in conformance with NSF/ANSI Standard 60, approved for use in potable water treatment.
