St. Charles County Highway Department will receive sealed bids for single chip seal, double chip seal, and MC-30 prime coat on various County The project shall include all work incidental to the supply and laying of approximately 217,130 square yards of single chip seal, to be paid for by the square yard, approximately 2,373 square yards of double chip seal, to be paid by the square yard, and 2,373 square yards of prime coat, using MC-30, over newly upgraded aggregate surfaces to be paid for by the square yard The proposal shall be accompanied by bid bond, cashier's check or certified check for an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount. The amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the County upon failure or refusal of the successful bidder to enter into a contract or to furnish bond after his proposal has been accepted. The County reserves the right to require the successful bidder to file proof of his ability to properly execute the project together with his record of successful completion of similar projects. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or proposals submitted, or to advertise for new bids. The contractor shall not commence work prior to the date of written notice from the County Engineer to begin work and shall complete all work by calendar day October 4, 2025. Full Notice to Proceed is expected to be on or about May 27, 2025. The County and the contractor may mutually agree to begin work on certain streets prior to the full NTP.
