Project Goals Aligned with the 2012 Hays County Parks Master Plan, this project will improve water quality, conserve natural resources, and enhance community connections to the Texas Hill Country. It will support Wimberley's award-winning Nature Camp Program, while promoting sustainability through innovative design. Scope of Services The selected firm will provide: 1. Design Development o Develop schematic designs and construction documents that incorporate specified sustainability, educational, and community engagement features. o Coordinate with civil, landscape, structural, and MEP engineers to create an integrated design that meets certification requirements. 2. Project Management and Construction Administration o Provide ongoing project management from pre-construction through project completion, including site visits, meetings, and coordination with City staff. o Oversee the construction process to ensure the project adheres to budget, schedule, and quality standards, meeting LEED, SITES, LBC, and One Water standards. 3. Stakeholder and Public Engagement o Develop and facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions to gather input from community members, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholders. o Organize public meetings and workshops to present design concepts and gather feedback to ensure the project aligns with community needs. o Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into the design process while maintaining project goals and sustainability standards. 4. Grant Writing Assistance o Support the City's efforts in securing additional funding by providing technical information and, if possible, assistance in preparing grant applications related to sustainability and environmental education. 5. Post-Construction Review o Conduct a comprehensive post-construction review, including LEED and SITES certification submissions, punch list completion, and final inspection. o Submit this project for awards including the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) Regional and State Awards, US Water Prize, American Institute of Architects (AIA) COTE Top Ten Awards, Austin Green Awards, Texas Society of Architects Design Awards, and any other awards that this project qualifies for. o Ensure the facility is fully operational and meets all sustainability and educational standards prior to handover.
