Demolition, site work and addition to a restaurant in Davis, California. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a restaurant; for the demolition of a restaurant; and for site work for a restaurant.
Seeking qualified firms with expertise in data collection, stakeholder engagement, scoping, and criteria document development. Services will include analysis of University's design objectives, project constraints, and performance metrics. Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure criteria documents reflect project goals, functional requirements, and experiential goals established in a project program. Services will also include but will not be limited to graphic development of proposed solutions, cost estimating, schedule development, and similar tasks. The selected firm will be required to engage campus stakeholders, develop plan scenarios, provide opinions of probable construction costs, and develop a comprehensive project program to be used to seek a qualified builder to complete the design and construction of the facility consideration to provide architectural and engineering services to lead stakeholder workshops and develop project objectives and requirements, including the development of design concepts and probable cost of construction for the remodel of a roughly 45,000 square foot Dining Commons on campus. Estimated construction cost is approximately $7,000,000. The University is seeking an architectural and engineering programming team that will form a creative partnership to assess the Segundo Dining Commons capacity to serve the Segundo Infill Housing project's 600 new beds (Fall 2027) as well as the potential future redevelopment of Regan Hall Complex, which might add 500 to 1,000 new beds (Fall 2032). The expansion must address both immediate needs and future growth of the campus to ensure the investment supports long-term goals. Relevant qualifications shall include extensive and proven experience in stakeholder engagement, program development, design of student dining facilities for public institutions, including higher education. Firms must demonstrate their history in meeting project requirements, construction budgets, project schedules, and sufficient experience in LEED certification. The consultant shall include an architect as prime consultant for this programming effort. Sub-consultants shall be available to support efforts regarding civil, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and energy modeling), electrical and structural engineering, telecommunications, security, landscape architecture, cost estimating, code consulting, and sustainability consulting as needed. The consultant shall have experience working with large and diverse groups, preferably with students, faculty, and staff in a higher education setting. Firms will be required to have an active State of California's architect's license for a minimum of five years. The key attributes that the University is seeking are firms with experience on public college campuses who can respond in a timely manner and assign staff with the technical expertise along with excellent communication and organizational skills. The successful consultant and its sub consultants will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Professional Service Agreement and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work if applicable. University reserves the right to request full design services from this team through the use of a Master Architect Agreement or an Executive Design Professional Agreement
