Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility Shingled Roof Work for the Furnishing of All Labor, Material and Equipment for The Proposed Lorain/ Medina Community Based Correctional Facility Shingled Roof Work Project. The Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility is located at 9892 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio, 44035. AII contractors involved with this project will to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. Bidders shall submit a list of equipment available, and all labor shall be paid no less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Wage and Hour Division. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any, and all bids, and to waive any informalities or irregularities if it is deemed in the best interest of Lorain County to do so Questions must be received by noon on Friday, April 18th. Any interpretation, correction, or modification to the specifications desired shall be submitted in writing to the Lorain County Administrator, 226 Middle Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035, and must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the bid opening 1) Providing all materials, labor and equipment to perform all roof replacement work. Specifications for materials used shall be provided. 2) Remove and replace asphalt shingles with new shingles similar in color and style and rated for 30 years or greater. Installation must be completed according to manufacturer's specifications to the highest warranty criteria. All new boots, ridge vents etc. are also to be included. 3) Replace any damaged or rotten roof decking as necessary. 4) Provide cleanup and removal of all construction debris. Details that Apply to All Work Areas: 1) All work shall be performed to comply with all state and local building codes. 2) Contractor will maintain clean work areas at all times, 3) The Contractor shall coordinate all parking and material storage with the Owner prior to the beginning of work. 4) LMCBCF will remain open during the project. Coordination of the project to ensure continued operations is essential. 5) Contractor shall coordinate inspections with the Owner as required. 6) Upon completion of work, all construction areas shall be left clean and free of debris Scope of Contract A) Tear-off existing shingled roof (All shingled areas of building, including separate pump house structure). Haul away all debris. B) Inspect deck. Replace as necessary at time and cost. C) Install ice shield along fascia boards 24" beyond inner walls; 36" in valleys, exhaust vents and perimeter of flat roofs. D) Cover roof deck with 30# felt or equivalent (May be based on roofing system installed.) E) Install new metal drip edge on all edges. F) Install 24" metal "W" valley in all valleys. G) Install heavy gauge step flashing at all protrusions. H) Install aluminum soil pipe boots. I) Build crickets on exhaust vents over 30" wide (2). J) Install by nail, 30-year, 110 mph shingle per manufacturers specifications. K) Install ridge vent along all peaks. L) Contractor will be licensed, bonded and insured. M) Contractor will be responsible for all permits related to the project. N) Daily magnetic clean-up of all areas adjacent to work area. O) All materials will be installed according to manufacturer specification. P) Provide the owner with a 30-year manufacturer's warranty covering material and labor. Q) Work must be completed by June 30, 2025
