DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, and supervision of labors necessary to complete the work in response to notification that a sewer problem has been located. This project includes both emergency and scheduled repairs and involves excavation at various spot locations to replace sections of sewer pipe of various sizes, or to make other repairs to the sewer system and restoration of various items in the tree lawn or pavement areas. The amount of work will vary as needed to repair the various sewers. Based on previous contracts and budget, the estimated quantity of mainline trench excavation of various depths included in the proposal form totals 240 linear feet. All work shall be carried out and completed as specified in the SPECIFICATION "Sanitary Sewer System Repairs and Storm Sewer System Repair", current version. Questions may be emailed to: engineer@cityofelyria.org. PRE-BID MEETING: There will be no pre-bid meeting for this project. BID SECURITY: The bid must be accompanied by a bid guaranty. The bid guaranty must meet all requirements of Section 153.54 of the ORC and the Instructions to Bidders. COMPLETION TIME: The contractor will have until April 30, 2026 to complete the Work. AWARD OF CONTRACT: The City reserves the right to waive any technicalities, informalities or to reject any or all bids received, and to accept any bid with any combination of alternates which is deemed most favorable to the City of Elyria, Ohio at the time and under the conditions stipulated in the project documents. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional bids, and to reject the bid of any bidder if the City believes that it would not be in the best interest of the City to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fail to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the City.
