A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The furnishing of all labor, material and equipment for the Justice Center Cooling Tower Rebuild project in accordance with specifications prepared by Lorain County. The project scope of work includes rebuilding of the existing roof mounted cooling tower. The intent is for this equipment to be rebuilt replacing existing OEM components. The cooling tower controls will remain. The bid will be received for a single prime, lump sum Contract. The County intends and requires the work to be completed within one hundred and three days from Notice to Proceed. All work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Board of County Commissioners. All contractors involved with this project shall, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. All contractors shall comply with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123. Bidders are hereby notified that this project will be funded by the Board of County Commissioners. Bidders may obtain official bid documents, plans, and specifications electronically, free of charge, by emailing Jessica Burns, Fiscal Administrator, at jburns@loraincounty.us. Only bids prepared on the official bid documents obtained from the County will be accepted. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Bidders are hereby notified that this project will be funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, and by Lorain County. Each proposal shall contain the full name or names of persons and bidders who submit the proposal and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked Justice Center Cooling Tower Rebuild. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities if deemed to be in the best interest of Lorain County to do so. Bidders shall direct any request for interpretation, correction, or modification of the specifications in writing to Jeff Armbruster, County Administrator, 226 Middle Avenue, Elyria, OH 44035 and must be received at least seven (7) working days prior to the date of bid opening.
