Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Sycamore, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of April 21, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on April 22, 2025. The Sycamore Park District is soliciting sealed bids from qualified roofing contractors for the replacement of a cedar shake roof on a park shelter. Project Scope: Remove and dispose of existing cedar shake roofing Inspect and replace plywood decking where rot is present Install 6' ice and water shield membrane along all gutter edges Cover the remainder of the roof with synthetic felt Install aluminum valley flashing and drip edge Install new heavy cedar shakes (consistent with existing shake thickness) with matching hip and ridge Install new chimney flashing Structural wood replacement maybe needed - to be decided with awarded contractor Ensure complete site cleanup upon project completion Comply with prevailing wage requirements Work to be completed in spring/early summer 2025 Additional Requirements: Bids must include all labor and materials Removal and proper disposal of old roofing materials A signed Independent Contractor Agreement including prevailing wage Certificate of insurance naming the Sycamore Park District as insured The Sycamore Park District reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.
