Contractor/vendor shall supply one (1) complete 4-foot-wide by approximately 880 feet long boardwalk system (Phase 1: approximately 380 feet, Phase 2: approximately 500 feet, lengths do not include the three (3) boardwalk viewing areas) as indicated on the Drawings. Contractor shall also supply four (4) benches. B. The work shall consist of the furnishing of all materials, fabrication, and delivery, materials necessary for a complete and fully functional boardwalk. The boardwalk system is to be installed by the Owner. C. The boardwalk system shall be configured to follow the existing boardwalk layout as shown on the Drawings. The boardwalk system shall be manufactured in a manner that will allow the Owner to piece the components together easily and efficiently in the field. D. The performance identified in this specification is for reference and it is the responsibility of the contractor to design and furnish a boardwalk system that will perform in the environment where installed. All final engineering, calculations, and design of the boardwalk shall be borne by the contractor. E. The work shall also include the completion of details of work not mentioned which are necessary for the successful completion of the boardwalk described. F. Contractor shall assume full responsibility for additional costs which may result from unauthorized deviations from the contract documents. G. Contractor shall visit the site before submitting their bid. Failure to visit the site will in no way relieve the contractor the necessity of performing work and any work required to complete the work intended by the specifications, which should be determined by the site visit. H. Contractor shall deliver to the site the boardwalk materials in a palletized/skid condition ready to be off-loaded with standard forklift equipment.
