A. The Work of this Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. The goal of this project is to increase the capacity of the stormwater conveyance system and reduce flooding in the project area. Construction will include installation of storm water structures, piping, minor grading, paving, and miscellaneous concrete work. B. Type of Contract 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The principle work to be performed under this contract consists of the construction of approximately 3,600 LF of waterline, 2,120 LF of sanitary sewer and associated appurtenances. The engineer and owner will evaluate the bids and award the project to the lowest responsible bidder. Each Bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of his bid. A CERTIFIED CHECK in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the bid amount may be submitted in lieu of a BID BOND. A PERFORMANCE BOND and PAYMENT BOND, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The OWNER reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bids received and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the Owner. Bidders must be properly licensed as a Contractor in the State of Virginia. Bidder's Contractor's license number must be on the outside of the bid package.
