Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, a deposit of cash or by a certified check payable to the Emporia-Greensville Airport Commission and drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of Virginia, for an amount equal to 5% of the total base bid, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the required Contract will be executed and the required Performance Bond and Payment Bond furnished within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice of formal award of Contract.
