The Town of Fairfield (Town), on behalf of Fairfield Public Schools is seeking competitive bid submissions from qualified Contractors to partially replace the existing roof areas at the Stratfield Elementary School, 1407 Melville, Fairfield CT 06824. The project scope shall include all work as specified in the contract documents prepared by Silver Petrucelli + Associates, 3190 Whitney Avenue, Building 2, Hamden, CT 06518. This is a State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Pre-Qualified Contractor (Contractor Classification - "Roofing"). Commission on Human Rights & Opportunity (CHRO), and Department of Labor (DOL) Prevailing Wage project. No exceptions. PROJECT OVERVIEW Six (6) roof areas [approximately 18,939 square feet (sf)] are at the end of their useful lives and are in need of replacement. The six (6) roof areas were originally installed in 1993 and 1998. Portions of these existing roof systems are showing signs of failure and the Town's roof preventative maintenance contractor has reported to the Town that it is time to replace these roof areas before any further damage occurs. Roofing material is a modified bitumen. It is the Town's intent to have the replacement roof areas installed during the summer of 2025. However, this is not a guaranteed schedule. SCHEDULE The awarded Contractor shall have site access from Monday, June 16th, 2025 with all work to be substantially completed on or before Friday, August 22nd, 2025. Time is of the essence.
