Construction of a detention basin on City Owned property located north of Maple Street and South of Platt Street and approximately 0.25 miles east of South Clark Street. The construction of the detention basin includes approximately 14,600 CY of earthwork. The project also includes the regrading of several ditches downstream of the proposed detention basin and the replacement of approximately 190 lineal feet of 30" equivalent RCP pipe and the reconstruction of a storm intake. Miscellaneous erosion control and seeding for the disturbed area associated with the proposed project. Owner anticipates that the Project's total bid price will be approximately $324,000.00. The work will be substantially complete on or before September 19, 2025, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before October 20, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of each of the substantial and final completion time frames, with due allowance for extension of contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor, as approved by the Owner. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 and as specified by the Owner. The bid security shall be 10 percent of the total amount of the bid. Correction Period: The improvements shall be kept and maintained in good repair for a period of 2 years after substantial completion The City of Maquoketa, Iowa, hereby reserved the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities and award a contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder.
