The scope of works includes supplying all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to apply thermoplastic and paint Roadway Markings throughout the City of Chilliwack. a. The types of markings required may include, but are not limited to, centerlines, lane lines, skip lines, shoulder lines, standard crosswalks, mid-block zebra crosswalks, stop bars, turn arrows, gore areas and median hatching. b. The Work may require markings to be installed over existing painted road markings and may include new marking installations. c. Where non-capital, maintenance pavement patching or excessive wear has obliterated old road markings the contractor shall re-establish the marking using standard pre-marking techniques at no extra cost to the owner. No extra payment shall be made for pre-marking (layout) unless the total length of centerline requiring pre-marking exceeds 5 kilometers. In the event that pre-marking is required for more than 5 kilometers a pre-marking rate will be negotiated or the work will be conducted by the owner's forces. d. Road marking on 2025 Capital Works projects will be done through the general contractor for that particular project. Unit prices and lump sum price under this contract will be extended to the contractors contracted by the City. Mobilization and pre-marking costs may be charged.
