The City of Chilliwack (City) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EIs) from qualified Respondents to develop, design and construct the "2025 Sanitary Pump Station (SPS) # 1 Forcemain Upgrade Project". The existing SPS # 1 forcemain is a 600 mm-diameter asbestos concrete (AC) pipe constructed in 1961. The existing 600mm dia. AC forcemain runs west for approximately 960m along Hodgins Avenue and Wolfe Road from Existing SPS # 1 to Dyke Road. The forcemain size then increases to 750mm after the conjunction with another 350mm dia. AC force main at the Wolfe Road and Dyke Road intersection. The 750mm dia. concrete forcemain then continues west along Wolfe Road for approximately 340m and discharges into the Chilliwack Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at 44820 Wolfe Road. This 600mm dia. AC forcemain section of SPS # 1 has deteriorated and is at risk of failure. Therefore, the City aims to replace the 600mm dia. AC forcemain section from SPS # 1 to Dyke Road connection through the design-build procurement process. The key Project objectives are to: Realize an innovative financial and technical solution that will deliver the Project in the most efficient and cost-effective manner; Design and construct the Project to standards that will result in an operationally safe, efficient, and high-quality infrastructure; Construct the Works with minimal disruption to surrounding neighborhoods, community, and to the operations of the road and utility networks.
