Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, parts, tools, equipment, permits and incidentals necessary to remove and legally dispose of existing sewer line and install new sewer line. additional site visit note: All prospective contractors are to be assembled at Caltrans, San Fernando MS, 11930 Blucher Street, Granada Hills, CA, at 10:00 a.m. Bidders must sign in (on the sheet provided) upon arrival and sign out upon completion of the walk-through activities Detailed Description of Work A. Temporary Construction Site Setup 1) Temporary Fencing a) Contractor shall install approximately 500 linear feet of temporary construction fencing with a windscreen. b) Contractor shall sandbag and mechanically affix each panel. 2) Temporary Site Services for Facility a) Contractor shall provide toilet facilities: Eight (8) men's, four (4) women's. b) Contractor shall provide hand wash stations: Four (4) men's, two (2) women's. c) Contractor shall provide one (1) eye wash station. 3) Temporary Power Supply Contractor shall provide temporary site power to the construction site. 4) Dust Management Contractor shall provide ongoing construction dust management throughout the project. B. Demolition and Earthworks 1) Asphalt Pavement Removal Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of approximately 1,400 square feet (sq ft) of asphalt pavement demolition at trenched locations. 2) Asphalt Grinding and Steel Plating Installation a) Contractor shall grind approximately 700 sq ft of asphalt. b) Contractor shall install tread steel plating flush with the existing pavement, and shall be traffic-rated for heavy-duty equipment. 3) Trenching and Earth Excavation a) Contractor shall provide trench shoring and one and one eighth inch (1-1/8") plywood for 780 LF of trenching. b) Contractor shall provide approximately 200 cubic (cu) yards (yds) of earth excavation and hauling. C. Plumbing Installation 1) Soil Pipe Installation a) Contractor shall install approximately 350 LF of four inch (4") domestic cast iron building sewer pipe. b) Contractor shall use domestic cast iron pipe and MG couplings. c) Contractor shall maintain a two percent (2%) slope for the soil pipe. d) Contractor shall support every five (5) feet with 36" embedment of stakes. e) Contractor shall bed the soil pipe in six inches (6") of sand. f) Contractor shall install cleanouts every 100 feet with traffic-rated concrete boxes. D. Toilet Trailer Waste Disposal a) Contractor shall install waste disposal receptacle at the back of the main office, including a four-inch (4") trap and a vent affixed to the main office. b) Contractor shall install 1 inch copper piping wrapped in 20 Mil. for trap primer, including brazed joints. c) Contractor shall install one inch (1") backflow device and two inch (2") domestic cast iron soil pipe vent system. d) Contractor shall install approximately 25' feet of above-ground surface-mounted vent work to roof top. e) Contractor shall install mechanical flush assembly for waste displacement (10 gallons per actuation). 3) Backfilling Contractor shall backfill approximately 200 cu yds with one (1) sack slurry. 4) Concrete Work Contractor shall install approximately 300 sq ft of eight inch (8") thick concrete housekeeping pad with #4 rebar placed at 12" centers. The pad will have a two percent (2%) slope to the center, including a four-inch (4") waste receptacle at grade in the middle. E. Asphalt Patching 1) Contractor shall install approximately 1,400 sq ft of asphalt patching: a) Contractor shall install a total thickness of six-inch (6") section with four inch (4") State three quarter inch (_") performance grade (PG) 64-10 and two inch (2") State half inch (_") PG 64-10. b) Contractor shall install t-section with a one foot (1') cold mill over saw cuts/cold joints for recess trench plates. F. Sewer Lateral and Traffic Control 1) Sewer Lateral Installation a) Contractor shall install a new six-inch (6") sewer lateral from the City main to the property line (approximately 30 linear feet) according to BOE requirements. b) Contractor shall provide the necessary street traffic control measures. G. Permits and Inspections 1) Permitting a) Contractor shall obtain all required building and plumbing permits from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety and Public Works. b) Contractor shall coordinate necessary hydrostatic pressure test and inspections. H. Warranty Contractor shall unconditionally warranty all workmanship and parts for a period of no less than five (5) years from the date of completion. 7. Waste Disposal Prior to the commencement of waste disposal, Contractor must adhere to the provisions highlighted in Senate Bill 1383 (Lara) of 2016 Title 14, CCR, General Provisions section 18981.2, Public Resources Code sections 42652 et. Seq. an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
