Renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Baldwin, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.

**As of June 20, 2025, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will be rebid but no definite date yet.** LELAND CENTER SALT STORAGE IMPROVEMENTS The scope of work generally includes improvements to the Leland Center Salt Storage facility, including but not limited to select demolition, structural repairs/ modifications, replacement of roll-up doors, sectional doors, man doors, light fixture replacement, and painting and coatings and all necessary appurtenances. There is an Add Alternate for cleaning and sealing the exterior masonry and replacement of retaining wall. Any technical questions regarding the bid documents are to be directed to LSSE. Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates apply. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Borough. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Borough of Baldwin to guarantee the bidders entrance into the contract if given the award. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. Attention is directed to the fact that procurement is subject to all requirements of the Pennsylvania Steel Products Procurement Act, Act No. 1978-3; and for Contract value exceeding $25,000, the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act of 1961 P.L. 987), and The Public Works Employment Verification Act (July 2012) apply. Tentative start date is June 15, 2025. All work must be completed by October 31, 2025 Work included under this project generally consists of the rehabilitation of an existing salt storage building, including but not limited to removal and replacement of roof system over salt storage area (trusses, sheathing, shingles, fascia, gutters, etc.); repair of damaged exterior masonry block; replace all exterior man doors, roll-up doors, segmental overhead doors and chain link fence swing gates; relocation and enlargement of existing14'H x 14'W lower-level salt storage access door to 14'H x 16'W; ; CMUin-fill; clean and coat interior block of salt storage area, repair large cracks and spalls within interior walls of salt storage area; replace all interior lights within salt storage area and associated switches; replace exterior wall pack lights; new gutters and downspouts; replace existing one (1) vent louver and one (1) exhaust fan within salt storage area; remove existing unit heater from salt storage area and cap/abandon control wiring and gas supply; remove existing brine system piping from exterior of building; remove existing timber landscaping wall (approximately 2' high) along access drive at southern side of building and install approximately 24 linear feet of Jumbo Block; clean and seal the exterior masonry block; paint existing bollards and all appurtenances in accordance with the Contract Documents.
