Renovation of a municipal facility in Sitka, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The City and Borough of Sitka (CBS) is soliciting Proposals from qualified Design-Build (DB) Teams to design and construct the Marine Service Center (MSC) Improvement Project. The selection process must comply with CBS and. Maritime Administration (MARAD) procurement requirements to ensure open and fair competition. CBS intends to select the DB Team utilizing a Qualifications and Price competitive process to procure the highest qualified contractor with the: strongest management team at market competitive fees. The proposers will be ranked based on the cumulative scores for qualifications and price. CBS encourages disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned consultant firms to respond. Questions by email are requested to allow for tracking. The CBS, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, colour, or national origin in consideration for an award. This project would also include improvements to the marine berthing structures, with consideration for all-tide mooring capability. This project would also replace the existing pedestal crane and associated electrical power supply. This project is needed to ensure continued safety, structural stability, and use of the seawall, uplands staging areas, adjacent cold storage building, and commercial cargo transfer facility. All-tide mooring improvements would improve vessel mooring safety and allow for longer-duration berthing capabilities.
