Walk-In Cooler and Freezer The Board of Directors of Lenape Tech reserve the right to reject all or any part of these bids and to waive any informality which in its judgment does not serve the best interest the board. It is the intent of these specifications to provide acceptable standards for the installation of Tafco Walk-In Cooler and Tafco Walk-In Freezer provided under this specification, which shall be prefabricated of modular design and construction. The Coolers are of different dimensions and are referred to as "Lenape #1" and "Lenape #2". LENAPE #1 (cooler) General: Tafco Walk-In Cooler provided under this specification shall be prefabricated, of modular design and construction. Actual Overall Size: 7' 9" x 10' 7-1/2" x 8' H (+35F Cooler) Panels shall be standard in 11 1/2 , 17 1/4 ", 23", 28 3/4 ", 34 1/2 ", 40 1/4 " and 46" widths and shall be interchangeable with like panels. Cooler without Floor, with Flat Bottom Walls. Overall height of 8'H Corner panels shall be 90-degree angles with 12" exterior horizontal measurements. Panels shall consist of "foamed-in-place" urethane insulation sandwiched between interior and exterior metal "skin" which has been die-formed and gauged for uniformity in size. The edges of panels shall be "foamed-in-place" at time of fabrication. Each panel shall be filled with rigid "foamed-in-place" urethane insulation having a thermal conductivity (K factor) of .131 BTU / hr. / square foot per degrees Fahrenheit per inch; and an overall coefficient of heat transfer (U factor) of not more than >.033. "R" factor shall be 32. Insulation shall have a 97% closed cell structured with an average in place density of 2.3 lbs. per cubic foot, and compression strength at yield point of 22 lbs. per square inch. Overall thickness shall be 4 inches. Panels & TAFCO SWING door provided for this job meet and/or exceeds the 2016 NYC Energy Code. 1. Receive, store, and deliver equipment to site. 2. Prepare installation site by cutting existing masonry opening to accept the size of cooler & freezer door frames. 3. Prepare freezer floor area by cutting 2-1/8" Slot cut into existing cement floor, install 2" STYROFOAM(TM) Brand Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) Square Edge Insulation into slot cut for vertical thermal break at centerline of new freezer wall dimensions. 4. Equipment includes walk-in box structure panels and accessories. 5. Erect walk-in structures on site in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. 6. Seal panels with pre-formed gaskets & additional polybutylene sealant as necessary. 7. Support ceiling panels as required with ceiling hanger clips and additional hardware. 8. Set & secure roof-top condensing units. 9. Connect condensing units to safety disconnect switch. 10. Hang evaporator coils and connects to electrical rough-ins. 11. Install secured insulated pipe sets connecting evaporator coils to roof mounted condensing units. Install condensate drain systems connecting evaporator coils to adjacent floor drains/floor sinks. 12. Install LED lighting system including vapor proof LED lights & vapor proof wiring conduit. 13. Connect lighting system, door heaters, optional heated windows to electrical roughin locations. 14. Pressure test & evacuate connected refrigeration system piping. 15. Charge system with R-448A refrigerant. Start-up, test, & check system. Adjust controls as necessary. 16. Trim out walk-in structure with matching metal flashing to adjacent walls located within 4" of box structure. 17. Associated refuse and excess materials to be gathered and placed into dumpster. 18. Build area to be swept clean at the end of each day. 19. All installation pricing based on work to occur during hours 7AM - 7PM 20. Existing refrigeration systems are to be preserved & re-used for new box installation. The installation contractor is responsible for decommissioning & recommissioning refrigeration systems.
