Mauston Military Readiness Center Boiler Replace and Renovations - GPC This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. No later than 5 days after DFD identifies the successful MEP bids, DFD will publicly open general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. If a project does not include any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection divisions of work, DFD will bid one bid package for all work to general prime contractors. In general, the work consists of: The renovation of existing space and building systems. Building renovation work includes adding a mezzanine and remodeling of the following areas: classrooms, office spaces, kitchenette, toilets, showers, storage, supply area, and for providing a new IT and mechanical room. All new finishes in the areas of renovation will be provided. At the renovation of the office, classroom, and restroom areas to the north, east, and south of the assembly hall, new openings in existing masonry bearing walls will require new steel or bond beam lintels. At the north portion of the building, and the restroom and shower renovation areas, floor slab will be removed for plumbing installation, and new slab will be installed. Work proposed in locker rooms, shower and toilet rooms; including removal of the remaining waste and vent piping, removal of the remaining plumbing fixtures, provide new plumbing fixtures and related piping as required for the new floor plan layout. The existing stoop and foundation on the north building face adjacent to the existing kitchen will be demolished and removed in conjunction with the removal of the kitchen. The adjacent sidewalk and gate in the security fence will remain for access into the compound. Building systems work includes replacing the steam heating system with hot water system, replacing the A/C window cooling units with VAV air handling units and VAV boxes with hot water reheat, and adding a new DDC system to control the heating and cooling equipment. The affected existing lighting panels will be removed and replaced with more robust and efficient power panels. Existing flush mounted panels will be replaced with new flush mounted panels. Existing lighting fixtures in the affected areas will be removed and replaced with LED lighting. Existing cables and wiring shall be removed and replaced with new cabling.
