Contract E - Sedimentation Tank Covers, Meter Vault Improvements & Pump Replacements The project consists of the construction of covers on the six (6) existing sedimentation basins, replacement in kind of raw water pumps at Freeport Pump Station, and installation of provided magnetic flow meters in place of existing venturi meters. Each bid must be accompanied by proposal security in the form of a certified check or a bid bond in the amount equal to not less than ten (10%) percent of the total base bid price in accordance with provisions contained in the "Instruction for Bidders" section of the specifications./A Q/A: - The deadline for questions shall be May 23rd at 12PM local time. Prospective BIDDERS shall submit inquiries in writing to both Gus Maas, PE (gus.maas@burgessniple.com) and Emily Poach, EIT (emily.poach@burgessniple.com). No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of 60-days after date of bid opening. The North East Borough Water Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding and to accept the bid serving the best interest of the North East Borough Water Authority. Item 1 - Sedimentation Tank Covers. Item 1A - Allowance for Mesh Type Covers and Anchoring Hardware. This item shall include a bid allowance for procuring a mesh type cover and associated anchoring hardware required for the completion of the sedimentation tank covers installation, complete and ready for operation, in accordance with the Contract Documents, plans and specifications. Refer to specifications regarding this item for material allowance. Contractor shall submit a detailed plan and cost breakdown, including schedule to the Owner/Engineer for review and approval prior to purchasing items or performing work. The bid allowance will be adjusted by final adjusting change order at the conclusion of the project to reflect the final amount. Item 1B - Cover Installation Including All Labor and Miscellaneous Material Costs. This item shall include furnishing all labor, tools, materials that are not covered under item 1A or 1C, equipment and activities including, but not limited to: mobilization/demobilization; storing and staging equipment; preconstruction audio-video recording; anchoring fasteners; testing; coordination and communication with Owner; and all other related work and expenses whether specifically mentioned or not, required for the completion of the sedimentation tank covers installation, complete and ready for operation, in accordance with the Contract Documents, plans and specifications. Item 1C - Contract Allowance for Miscellaneous Sedimentation Tank Concrete Repairs, if Required. This item shall include a bid allowance for miscellaneous work and activities for concrete repair at the sedimentation tanks beyond that identified in the Contract Documents, plans and specifications, which could not have reasonably been known or identified at the time of bidding; and as identified and requested by the Owner/Engineer; Contractor shall submit a detailed plan and cost breakdown, including schedule to the Owner/Engineer for review and approval prior to purchasing items or performing work. The bid allowance will be adjusted by final adjusting change order at the conclusion of the project to reflect the final amount. Item 2 - Piping, Valves, and Related Work for Meter Installations. This item shall include furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment and activities including, but not limited to: mobilization/demobilization; storing and staging equipment; project trailer; preconstruction audio-video recording; sediment and erosion control; clearing and grubbing; site restoration; grading and seeding; cutting and disposing of existing pipe, meters, and fittings; providing and installing new pipe, valves, and fittings; bedding; backfill; testing; coordination and communication with Owner; and all other related work and expenses whether specifically mentioned or not, required for the completion of the new flow meter installation, complete and ready for operation, in accordance with the Contract Documents, plans and specifications. Owner will supply meters for Contractor installation . Item 3 - Freeport Pump Station Pump Replacements. This item shall include furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment and activities including, but not limited to: mobilization/demobilization; storing and staging equipment; cutting and disposing of existing pipe and fittings, if necessary; removal and disposal of existing pumps; providing and installing new pipe and fittings, if necessary; providing and installing new pumps; testing; start-up; training; coordination and communication with Owner; and all other related work and expenses whether specifically mentioned or not, required for the completion of installing the new pumps, complete and ready for operation, in accordance with the Contract Documents, plans and specifications.
