Sidewalk Improvements with possible Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Safe Transportation Alternatives for Rural Schools (STAR) grant funding, Village of Roberts, Wisconsin. General The Village of Roberts is in need of engineering services for 1) grant application assistance and 2) design and construction phase services including grant administration, for approximately one mile of sidewalk improvements throughout the Village. Both the design and construction of the project are potentially being funded through the WisDOT federally funded TAP STAR grant. Existing Facility and Proposed Improvement - The proposed improvement will undertake infrastructure improvements that will expand the current sidewalk network and provide safer access for students who walk/bike to Roberts Elementary School via curb extensions. There are five Safe Route to School corridors where pedestrian infrastructure is significantly needed within 1/4 mile of the school. The proposed sidewalk network expansion will connect a park, a mobile home park and multiple neighborhoods to the school and the added curb extensions will allow travel while providing safe locations for students and community members to cross Division Street, the main arterial route in Roberts. . Commencement deadline: June 4, 2028. Completion deadline: June 30, 2030. The subject project must be completed by 6/30/2030.
