Renovation of an educational facility in Merced, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Golden Valley High School (1) Outdoor/Walk-In Refrigeration Unit and (1) Indoor/Walk-In Refrigeration Unit Replacement Project includes removal of the existing systems, provide and install the new refrigeration units consistent throughout the Project. All Requests for Information shall be submitted by 12:00 p.m. May 19, 2025. Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Job Walk. A mandatory pre-bid conference and job walk will be conducted to answer any questions and explain details regarding bidding requirements, specifications, and scope of work. This conference and job walk will give bidding contractors the opportunity to investigate and fully acquaint themselves with the conditions relating to the job so that they may fully understand facilities, difficulties, and restrictions. Any contractor interested in this project must attend. Parking at this location is limited, please plan to arrive early. The DISTRICT reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or waive any irregularities in any bids or in the bidding. The DISTRICT will determine which bid will be accepted pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20117. The award of the Contract, if made by the DISTRICT, will be by action of the Governing Board and to the lowest, responsible bidder, therefore among those bidders responsive to the call for bids. No bidder shall withdraw any bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The successful bidder must possess the appropriate class of Contractor's license required to perform the work identified in the drawings and specifications, and shall maintain a Class A license for the duration of the project and all applicable warranty periods. The Contractor's California State license number shall be clearly stated on the bidder proposal. Subcontractors shall be licensed pursuant to California law for the trades necessary to perform the Work called for in the Contract Documents. License Classifications Classification C-38 (Refrigeration Contractor) Classification C-20 (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor) Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to the Contract Documents as defined in the General Conditions, exclusions will not be accepted. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding Bidders shall enter into a contract ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award The cost of all bonds shall be included in the bid and paid for by the Contractor. Contractors shall be a licensed California contractor and shall comply with the State Labor Code . The work required in the bidding documents are subject to liquidated damages as outlined in the General Conditions. All Work must be completed December 31, 2025 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Said Notice shall not be issued prior to five (5) Days after award of the Contract, and shall not require that Work be commenced less than forty-eight (48) hours from the date of said Notice. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the Work within the time set forth herein will result in the imposition of liquidated damages for each Day of delay, in the amount set forth in the Information for Bidders. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or bid bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, payable to DISTRICT as a guarantee that Bidder, if its proposal is accepted, shall promptly execute the Agreement, furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, furnish a Payment Bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, and furnish certificates evidencing that the required insurance is in effect in the amounts set forth in the General Conditions. In the event the successful Bidder fails to enter into the Contract and execute the required documents, such bid security will be forfeited. The Performance Bond shall remain in full force and effect through the guarantee period as specified in the General Conditions.
