Project Description: Excavate, Trench and Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) as necessary in and around existing improvements and existing underground obstructions and install various lengths and sizes of conduit and conduit bends, pull-rope, ground rods, concrete vaults, and associated components for substructure installation, within the City of Merced Rights of Way. This is a public works project and is subject to the prevailing wage and labor laws of the State of California. Questions Due Date: May 15th 2025, 12:00 PM PDT Excavate, Trench and Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) as necessary in and around existing improvements and existing underground obstructions and install various lengths and sizes of conduit and conduit bends, pull-rope, ground rods, concrete vaults, and associated components for substructure installation, within the City of Merced Rights of Way. Vaults, bases, tops, grade rings, sealant and lids including freight to be supplied by MID. The Contractor shall coordinate with MID and suppliers for quantities, order, delivery, and shipping of MID procured materials. All other substructure materials including ground rods (1 per vault), pull rope, PVC conduit, PVC conduit bends and all conduit materials used at Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) to be supplied and installed by the Contractor. All crossing of foreign underground obstructions including, but not limited to communication lines, electrical lines, gas lines, fuel lines, water lines, sewer lines, drain lines, ditches, etc. to be included in Bids. All required work related to the work within the City of Merced Right of Ways shall be included in the Bids, all permits and agreements from other agencies obtained by MID or the Contractor are considered a part of these plans, the Bids shall include all requirements outlined in those permits and agreements including but not limited to, potholing, pit excavation and backfill, traffic control plans, traffic control, flagging, coordination with all agencies, insurance and surface repair. All substructure materials to meet or exceed MID and City of Merced standards and specifications. All substructure to be installed to MID and City of Merced standards and specifications. Contractor to repair and restore all property affected by construction activities. All property restoration to meet or exceed City of Merced standards and specifications. Other items not listed shall be placed, constructed, or installed as required by the Contract Documents and Construction Drawings. Note: This project requires the installation of (1) 6x12 hatch lid vault, that vault will be delivered and set in place by MID crews in the excavation prepared by the contractor, the hatch lid will be delivered to the site by MID but installed by the contractor, MID will also supply (3) bundles Approximately 1560 LF of the 6" PVC conduit that the contractor will be required to pick up at the MID yard at the Castle Commerce center, Atwater CA. PROJECT LOCATION: Coffee Street between Campus Parkway and Parsons Avenue in the City of Merced, CA. AWARD DATE: Notice of Award will be issued on or around Tuesday May 27, 2025. BEGIN WORK DATE: Notice to Proceed will be issued on or around Friday May 30, 2025. WORK COMPLETION DATE: Work shall be completed by Sunday August 17, 2025.
