Renovation of a municipal facility in Merced, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of July 16,2025, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, Demolition and removal of the existing generator and concrete pad at Merced City Hall and construction of a new pad and installation of new emergency generator. Upgrade standby power system and rework existing distribution/switchboard per the contract drawings and Electrical Specifications. Such other items or details, not mentioned above, that are required by the Drawings and Technical Specifications Plans, City of Merced Standard Specifications and Typical Details, and the Special Conditions shall be performed, placed, constructed, or installed. Bids are required for the entire work described herein AWARD OF CONTRACT: The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder (as determined per the Instructions to Bidders) and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. As a condition of award, the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond on the City's forms each in the full amount of the contract price. The successful bidder will also be required to submit proof of insurance for work involved. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price, payable to the City of Merced. CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: The Contractor shall possess a valid CLASS C10, A or B license at the time of submitting bids. CALIFORNIA WAGE RATE AND LABOR CODE REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of Industrial Relations (DIR) of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed. A copy of said wage rates is on file at the office of the City. The Contractor and any subcontractors shall pay not less than said specified rates and shall post a copy of said wage rates at the project site. No contractor or subcontractor may submit a bid, be listed on a bid proposal, or be awarded a contract for public work unless registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Contractors' bid submittals shall include fully completed Exhibit "E" -PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION CERTIFICATION as evidence of registration This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) participation goal is five percent (5%).
