The project, known as "Re!magine Spectrum Center," is being executed by a joint venture between Turner Construction and D.A. Everett Construction, with design by Perkins&Will. Scope and Budget: The renovation encompasses four phases, with the final phase set to conclude in the fall of 2025. The total investment is $245 million, which includes $190 million allocated to construction and the remaining funds designated for furniture, fixtures, equipment, permitting, design, and construction-related testing. Construction Timeline: The arena underwent closures during the NBA offseasons of 2024 and 2025 to facilitate the renovations. The final phase is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the fall. Design and Enhancements Fan Experience Upgrades: The renovation introduces themed "destinations" within the main concourse, inspired by various communities across the Carolinas. These areas feature enhanced lighting, signage, and concession locations to improve the fan experience. Seating and Premium Spaces: An additional 2,500 lower-level seats are being added, with all seats throughout the arena being replaced. The suite level is being renovated to include five different suite options, accommodating anywhere from two to 130 guests. A new "Theater Box" suite is also being introduced, offering an all-inclusive experience. Technology and Amenities: The renovation incorporates advanced technology to create more frictionless interactions, enhancing the overall concession experience.
