Maintenance Shop Flooring Replacement The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required to remove and replace approximately 8,750 square feet of wood block flooring with reinforced concrete in three phases, including jib crane foundation work, forming around existing rail, applying concrete sealant, and performing associated demolition, preparation, and protection tasks as specified. Bidders are required to make good faith efforts to meet or exceed the District's goal. NICTD will award the Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Anticipated Award Date: July 28, 2025 The contractor will pour 4,000 psi concrete reinforced with steel fibers to a 4-inch depth, including forming 2"x2" flangeways around the existing track rail. Additional tasks include the removal and replacement of a 7'x7' concrete slab for a jib crane foundation, installation of reinforcing bars, and casting 12 anchors, followed by concrete pouring to fill to grade. The contractor will apply a liquid densifier and sealer on the new concrete, sawcut control joints, and perform miscellaneous grinding to correct transitions. The project will require careful coordination to ensure continued NICTD access and operations, with protection measures for each work area and a 2-3 week cure time between phases.
