Description: The project, as detailed in the drawings, involves water main upgrades along Schmale Road in the Village of Carol Stream, located within the DuPage County Right-of-Way. The primary work for this project consists of replacing an existing cast iron water main with a new PVC water main along Schmale Road, within the easement shown in the plans. Additionally, the scope includes the installation of the PVC water main, abandonment of the existing cast iron water main, installation of new fire hydrants, horizontally directionally drilled water main, boring and jacking a 24" casing pipe under Schmale Road, parkway and landscaping restoration, and all related work necessary to complete the project as outlined in the plans and bid documents. The total length of the improvement is approximately 1,400 feet (0.266 miles). Additional Description: An interim deadline is included in the contract in order to provide service to a private development currently under construction.
