Sealed proposals are requested by Carbondale Township for Dirt and Gravel Road improvements on Justina Drive the Work includes reshaping of the cross section of Justina Drive, installation of underdrains, reshaping and rock lining of parallel ditches, installation of multiple cross pipes with stacked stone headwalls and rock outfall protection. Justina Drive will receive a new paving machine placed surface 16 ft wide of Driving Surface Aggregate (DSA)maintenance and protection of traffic. Work is being constructed under a grant from the Lackawanna County Conservation District under their Dirt, Gravel and Low Volume Road program. Bid proposals must be accompanied by an executed Non-Collision Affidavit. The proposal must be accompanied by a ten (10%) percent bid bond consisting of a certified check, certified bank treasurers check, bank cashiers check or bid bond. A satisfactory corporate surety shall provide security in an amount equal to 10% of the base bid. The surety shall name as payee or obligee Carbondale Township. All proposals submitted must comply with all specifications set forth in the bid packet. Notice is hereby given that the project constitutes a public works and is subject to the applicable provisions of the Human Relations Act of October 27, 1955, P.L. 744 and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act 442 of August 15, 1961, as amended. The Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all irregularities, mistakes, omissions or informalities relative hereto. The successful bidder will be required to execute a contract with Carbondale Township for the performance of the contract and will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds in the amount of One Hundred (100%) percent of the contract.
