Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS) is inviting proposals from qualified General Contractors to submit a firm price for the replacement of 48 combi-units (Domestic Hot Water and Heating) at 229 Candlewood Drive in Stoney Creek, Ontario. Experience with Indigenous communities and the inclusion of Indigenous apprentices and employment opportunities will be heavily weighted by OAHS, which considers this a strong asset. Documents are available at https://www.ontarioaboriginalhousing.ca/ The Contractor/vendor agrees to supply all permits, licenses, fees, labour, materials, plant or equipment for, and execute all work as describe below in the "Scope of Work Details". All unit modifications and/or renovations "must" be to current Ontario Building Code Standards. All permits to be posted on the rental premises. Failure to meet standard specs below without written consent from an OAHS staff member will result in non-payment. SCOPE : 48 Combination Units (Domestic Hot Water and Heating) 1. To safely disconnect and remove existing 48 hot water heaters and boiler units including associated pipework, flue and controls. 2. All hot water heaters that are less than 5 years old and in good condition to be stored in basement at 229 Candlewood for future use. OAHS rep to instruct exact location. 3. To properly dispose of all other old equipment and materials. Disposal of equipment or materials is not to be on site. Use of complex dumpster is for household waste only. 4. To supply & Install 48 (FORTY-EIGHT) new high efficiency Condensing Combi-Boiler units. 5. Units must be Energy Star rated and have minimum energy efficiency of 95% AFUE or higher. 6. Unit Heating capacity to be adequately sized to efficiently heat unit square footage. 7. To install new flue system in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and local building codes. 8. To connect existing or new pipework for gas, hot water and central heating for each unit. 9. To supply and install new digital programmable thermostat with each unit. 10. To insulate all exposed pipework as required. 11. To demonstrate operation of heating and hot water controls to client and/or OAHS staff member for future reference. 12. To provide all installation manuals, warranty documents and safety certificates upon completion.
