Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Saint John, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This work will include the removal and replacement of existing playground equipment, installation of Pour-in-Place play surface, underdrain and storm design, ADA improvements, concrete sidewalk removal and replacement, and hot-mix asphalt surface and intermediate course removal and replacement at Timberlane Park in St. John, Indiana. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents obtainable from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office as stated above. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of sixty (60) days following the date set for receiving bids. The City/Town County (Board of Works) reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than sixty (60) days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Council (Board of Works) further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the Town of St. John, or to reject all bids. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Town of St. John or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. This project is being funded in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Lake County Community Economic Development Department. The remaining portion of the project shall be funded through local funds. Total available funds for FY 2024 to the Town of St. John is $75,000, which represents approximately 30% of the estimated cost of the project.
