Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Burien, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project is located on S. 128th Street between Des Moines Memorial Drive S. and 24th Avenue S. Phase 2 has been divided into Schedule A and B. The project includes the installation of approximately 2,400 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main, 1,100 linea r feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main, 50 linear feet of 6-meh ductile iron water main, (18) 12-inch butterfly valve assemblies, (16) 8-mch gate valve assemblies, (5) fire hydrants assemblies, (24) 1-inch short side water service and meters, (25) 1-inch long side water service and meters, (1) 1.5-inch or 2-inch long side water service and meter, (20) water meter relocations, (13) connections to the existing system, and appurtenances. Additionally, the existing 1.5-inch diameter service valve and service line at 11315 26th Avenue South shall be replaced. This project also includes removal and disposal of approximately 3,000 linear feet of 6-inch water main. Included are temporary signalization, traffic control, erosion control, patching, restoration of existing conditions including signalization, permanent patching, curb and sidewalk, replacement, and asphalt grind and overlay. The Engineer's Estimate for the project is $3,738,000. The project is partially funded through the Washington State Public Works Board program with the form of a. surety bond, postal money order, cashier's check or certified check, made payable to the King County Treasurer for a sum of not less than 5 percent of the total bid. The bid will not be considered unless accompanied by such bid proposal deposit. King County Water District No. .20 reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bidding, and to make the award as deemed to be in the best interest ofthe District. The Bidder shall be informed that notice to proceed with construction for this project will not be issued until such time that all necessary permits are issued and received by the Water District. Proposals received after the time announced for the opening will not be considered. No bidder may withdraw their bid after the time announced for the opening or before the award and execution of the contract unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) calendar days. State funds in conjunction with Districts general funds. All work performed on this project will be subject to state prevailing wage rates. King County Water District No. 20 is an Equal Opportunity employer. All contractors must be licensed in the State ofWashington to conduct business. Prospective bidders must, have extensive experience in water mam installation and replacement projects. The Bidder shall have completed at least, five water mam projects for public agencies within the past five years. Completed projects shall be projects with construction cost of at least $500,000 each. Such experience shall be documented as directed on the Proposal form included in the Project Manual. Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours ofthe total labor hours are a requirement ofthe construction contract. Voluntary workforce diversity goals for this apprentice participation are identified in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions for Washington State Facility Construction. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries, Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs, The bid must be submitted on the form provided in the specifications and shall be accompanied by a bid.
