The City of Asheville seeks proposals from experienced housing developers interested in partnering with the City to develop affordable or mixed-income housing on City-owned property at 29 Oak Hill Drive. The City intends for this partnership to further its commitment to building safe, stable, and affordable housing that strengthens the surrounding community. Respondents to this RFP should demonstrate an understanding of the Asheville community and its affordable/mixed-income housing needs, as well as the unique attributes and opportunities of the development site and surrounding neighborhoods. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to utilize the City's resources to increase the supply of affordable and mixed-income housing in Asheville. After thoroughly reviewing responses to this RFP, the firm or firms demonstrating the most viable and productive plan to meet this goal will be selected to provide a detailed development proposal. The City will then seek to negotiate an exclusive arrangement for the sale and development of the site. The City of Asheville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
