Use standard fittings for direction changes. Where pipe sizes differ from connection sizes of equipment, install reducing fittings close to equipment. Reducing bushings are not permitted. Ream ends of pipes and tubes before installation. Lay copper tubing so that it is not in contact with dissimilar metal and will not be kinked or collapsed. Provide non-toxic lubricant or Teflon tape applied to male thread on all threaded connections. Clean ends of pipes or tubing and recesses of fittings to be brazed or soldered. Assemble joints without binding.
