Renovation of a water / sewer project in Holland, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

As of September 11, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The City of Wyoming regional water system provides water to a significant portion of Ottawa and Kent Counties, serving 11 communities in whole or part. The estimated service population is approximately 250,000 persons. The City of Wyoming Donald K. Shine Drinking Water Plant (DWP) is located at 16700 New Holland Street and is a conventional surface water DWP with source water from Lake Michigan. Finished drinking water is supplied by pumps at the DWP through two large diameter parallel pipes which end approximately 26 miles east at the Gezon Pumping Station in the City of Wyoming The City of Wyoming is currently constructing the first phase of a third transmission main that will eventually extend from the DWP to the Gezon Pumping Station. Construction of the third transmission main requires installation of a surge suppression system at the DWP. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of the City of Wyoming in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of 120 days after the receipt of bids. Bidder's questions will be received until Questions must be emailed to Mark Prein at mprein@preinnewhof.com and Steve Taplin at staplin@preinnewhof.com. Questions will not be answered by phone or in other oral communication. Question Deadline 07/15/2025 at 5:00 PM ET The proposed surge tanks and piping within the Surge Tank Building must be operational by November 1, 2026. The surge suppression system in whole must be substantially complete (operational) by April 1, 2027. The project must be completed and ready for payment no later than June 1, 2027. Event pre-bid note: Attendance at the bidders information meeting is highly recommended for all General Contractors wishing to submit a bid on the project and attendance at the pre-bid meeting will be considered as part of the bid evaluation process. Minutes of the bidders information meeting will be forwarded to all plan holders as an addendum. The Owner reserves the right to reflect any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for at least 120 days thereafter.
