Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Desert Hot Springs, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of Desert Hot Springs is inviting qualified professional landscape architecture and civil engineering consultants to submit proposals to provide design services for the Skyborne Park Design Project. The project focuses on developing a new community park within the Skyborne residential neighborhood in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The selected consultant will prepare plans, specifications, and an engineer's estimate (PS&E) to support the design and construction of park improvements at the Skyborne Community. The scope of work includes the following: o Redesign the park layout to incorporate existing conditions, including the 1/2 -acre municipal well site and adjacent retention basin. o Relocate or modify proposed amenities, including tennis court(s), to accommodate the well site footprint. o Design and construct a baseball diamond, open turf areas, playground space, picnic areas, walking paths, and a designated dog park. o Integrate drought-tolerant landscaping, efficient irrigation systems, shade structures, and CPTED principles. o Develop grading and drainage improvements to ensure proper site runoff, particularly around the well site and retention basin areas. o Ensure ADA-compliant access throughout the park and connectivity to surrounding public sidewalks. The consultant will be responsible for developing detailed and constructible PS&E documents for the Skyborne Park Design Project, taking into account site conditions, utility coordination, and compliance with City standards, accessibility regulations, and water-efficient landscape requirements. These improvements aim to provide highquality recreational amenities for the community while adapting the original design vision to meet current infrastructure and land use conditions. All questions must be submitted in writing to the City via email to dporras@cityofdhs.org on/or before Friday June 27, 2025, at/or before 5:00 p.m. All prime consultants that intend to submit a proposal shall notify Daniel Proposal at dporras@cityofdhs.org by June 16, 2025 at/or before 5:00 p.m. of the intent to submit a proposal. City's Response to Questions July 3, 2025 Agreement Effective Date and Project Start September 15, 2025 (tentative). The City may reject any or all proposals in whole or in part for any reason, including suspicion of collusion among proposers, and may waive any immaterial deviation in a proposal. The City's waiver of an immaterial defect shall in no way modify the RFP as published or excuse the proposer from full compliance with the specifications if he/she is awarded the agreement. Proposals referring to terms and conditions other than the City's terms and conditions as listed in the RFP, may be rejected as being nonresponsive. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
