Racine County is accepting sealed bids to provide Concrete Steps and an ADA Ramp at Quarry Lake Park for Racine County. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to construct a new cast-in-place concrete step and ADA-compliant ramp in accordance with the specifications outlined below and applicable local, state, and federal codes. o Demolition and removal of any existing concrete, as needed. o Site preparation and grading to ensure proper slope and drainage. o Construction of: o One (1) reinforced concrete step with proper riser height and tread depth. o One (1) ADA-compliant concrete ramp with a maximum slope of 1:12. o Installation of: o Cast-in-place concrete with broom finish. o Detectable warning surface at bottom of ramp (truncated dome tiles). o Steel or aluminum handrails on both sides of the ramp and step. o Side curbs as required to prevent roll-off. Materials o Concrete: Minimum 4,000 PSI compressive strength. o Reinforcement: #4 rebar at 12" OC each way or as shown in drawings. o Handrails: Powder-coated steel or aluminum, 1.5" diameter, mounted per ADA requirements. o Detectable Warnings: Precast tiles or in-situ cast with truncated domes; contrasting color. RACINE COUNTY through its duly authorized representatives, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive all technicalities, and choose the offer deemed most advantageous to Racine County. All bidders by submitting their bids agree to abide by the rules, regulations and decisions of Racine County.
