Cedar Fork Culvert Replacement project. The project includes the removal of five (5) 18" RCP culverts and the installation of a new 6' x 2' x 12' BC Type I box culvert with wingwalls, riprap replacement, stream bank stabilization, and sediment removal. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with this Invitation to Bid. The Contractor shall obtain and provide, without additional cost to the Town, all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, services, and licenses necessary to perform the work. The Town will provide the box culvert, delivered to the site; the Contractor is responsible for installation. The Town will also provide the greenway bollard base casing, but not the upper wooden bollard. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Demolition: Remove five (5) existing 18-inch diameter, 12-foot-long RCPs. 2. Dewatering/Pumping During Construction: Install and maintain temporary bypass pumping system. 3. Culvert Installation: Contractor shall prepare the min. 3" gravel/sand bed. Install one (1) 6'x2'x12' BC Type I concrete box culvert with wingwalls. Box culvert to be provided by the Town and delivered to the site. 4. Riprap Replacement: Install NCDOT Class B riprap: 10 LF upstream 20 LF downstream 5. Concrete Pavement: Install 6"-7" thick 4000 psi reinforced concrete apron connected to existing slab using dowel joints. 6. Channel Side Slope Stabilization: Regrade stream slopes and install erosion control blankets (C125BN or approved equivalent). 7. Sediment Removal & Earthwork Balance: Excavate ~8" sediment from: 28 LF upstream 58 LF downstream Proper offsite disposal of sediment. Net cut of ~5 CF. Total cut: ~615 CF. Total fill: ~610 CF. 8. Greenway Bollard Base: Install greenway bollard base casing provided by the Town. Upper wooden bollard shall be provided by contractor. If a unit price or extended price is obviously in error and the other is obviously correct, the incorrect price will be disregarded. AWARD OF CONTRACT: A contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, taking into consideration quality, suitability of the articles for the intended use; conformance to the specifications, time for delivery, the general reputation and performance capabilities of the bidder, and other such factors deemed by the Town to be pertinent or peculiar to the purchase in question. The Town of Morrisville reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. In accordance with N.C.G.S. 143-131 informal bids are not subject to inspection until after contract award.
