The project is expected to be awarded 8 weeks from the bid date.** This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. No later than 5 days after DFD identifies the successful MEP bids, DFD will publicly open general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. Demolition of existing exterior poured-in-place concrete courtyard stair and planters, trench drains and lighting. New courtyard work will consist of poured-in-place concrete accessible ramp, stairs and planters. Addiitonal courtyard work includes installation of new trench drain and stormwater piping connecting to existing storm sewer, new electrical lighting, and new security camera installation. Elevator modernization work consisting of new door operation controls and cab retrofit for three existing seven-stop traction elevators. Elevator new installation work includes the installation of a new seven-stop passenger traction elevator within an existing hoistway space that had not been previously utilized Heating and cooling improvements to two penthouse located equipment rooms Electrical feeder and source panel shall occur per the contract documents. Demolition and replacement of an existing limited use accessible platform lift and replated work. Temporary traffic control barriers, fences, gates and signage, located in conjunction with the City of Madison and is included as part of the project.
