The District seeks to engage a full-service mechanical and HVAC contractor with knowledge and experience in performing fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting work. The selected firm will help the District in scoping projects, providing clear labor and parts estimates for repairs, providing available project timelines, and completing routine maintenance and repair of our existing facilities with high quality to maintain and improve operations. We are looking for a partner that can commit to responding to MMSD requests within a set timeframe, as well as can commit to supporting the District to an agreed to number of hours per annum. Work will primarily be performed at the District's Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment plant. However, there will be work required at the District's regional pumping stations throughout the Madison area. Hours of work can vary depending on the nature of the event and the potential impact to treatment services, so a firm with flexibility for support is required. Proposers must have all applicable Wisconsin licenses and certifications, knowledge of mechanical and HVAC technologies used in wastewater infrastructure, and tools and resources to perform small to mid-size maintenance projects on site. Service(s) provided by the selected firm will include the following, as requested by the District: 1. Pipe removal and installation including ductile and cast iron, stainless steel, copper, PVC, etc. 2. Ordering or fabricating replacement piping sections, spool pieces and fittings. 3. Welding of piping as required. Contractor shall provide welding certification as requested. 4. Plug, ball, butterfly, check and gate valve removal and installation. 5. Inline flow meter removal and installation. 6. Sluice gate and slide gate troubleshooting and repair. 7. Pumping unit removal and installation. 8. Ability to work with piping and valve diameters ranging from 1/2 -inch to 48-inch diameter. 9. Air handling unit installation and removal 10. Air handling unit ducting and piping repair 11. Working at heights or underground 12. Knowledge and ability to use proper rigging techniques 13. Other miscellaneous mechanical and HVAC project and rehab work as required The Master Service contract agreement will be for a term of three years. New task orders will be issued based on individual projects. Only formal written addenda can materially alter the specifications. No verbal statement made by a district employee or anyone else is binding nor shall such a statement be considered an official part of this public proposal. All proposal responses and their contents will be public record. Unless otherwise specified in the proposal documents, the proponent should check our internet site for any addendum 72 hours before the scheduled proposal deadline. The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD or District) is soliciting proposals for Mechanical/HVAC project services. The District is looking to enter into a 3-year Master Services agreement with a partner organization that can deliver quality mechanical and HVAC project services that support routine maintenance and repair of our existing facilities. Additionally, we are looking for firms that can provide responsiveness to quotation and project scoping requests, as well as can commit to a standard number of hours for projects on an annual basis. As more specifically described below, the selected firm must have expertise in performing mechanical and HVAC project work within the wastewater treatment industry.
