No definite date for the rebid.** Shawnee County is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified contractors to provide construction services for the reconstruction of Play Land located in Gage Park and operated by the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Department. Proposers should clearly understand that the only official answer or position of Shawnee County will be in writing. Any modification to this Request arising from the pre-proposal conference, as well as answers to written questions shall be made in writing by addendum and will be issued through the online bid portal. Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Department (SCP+R) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, construction equipment, coordination, and supervision necessary for the reconstruction of the Gage Park Play Land prior to April 2026. The work shall include the construction of necessary concrete footings for a custom multi-tower aerial adventure trail playground structure (Sky Trail) as an unattended net play structure, and the construction of ten (10) new play areas (PA). The project shall include the coordination of the placement of new playground equipment at each PA Work shall include excavation, site prep, utilities relocation, concrete structural footings, concrete curbing, concrete walkways, subsurface drainage systems, poured-in-place (PIP) safety surfacing, fencing, piping, and site amenities as detailed in the project concept drawings, design drawings, and specifications contained herein. For this contract, Shelter House S-1, Shelter House S-2, and the Splash Pad (as indicated on the drawings) will not be included. At the discretion of the County at a later date, an additional RFP for Shelter House S-1, and for Shelter House S-2, with an accompanying 45' diameter splash pad, may be initiated. The Gage Park Play Land Reconstruction Project consists of a multi-tower custom adventure trail (Sky Trail) designed by RCI Adventures of Allegan, MI. RCI has been responsible to date for the design and fabrication of the Sky Trail components. They are responsible for the delivery, installation, and testing of the Sky Trail system's towers, segments, and accessories (slides, climbing elements, and other features). RCI has structurally designed all necessary concrete footings for the aerial towers and accessories. Detailed drawings including footing configuration, locations, dimensions, and reinforcing steel requirements are provided by RCI as part of this RFP. All concrete footings serving the Sky Trail will be constructed as part of this contract (per RCI drawings and specifications) and must coordinate with the subsequent installation of the aerial trail equipment by RCI, with special attention to footing elevation and positioning requirements. It is anticipated that RCI will be onsite for Sky Trail component installation between September 15 and November 15, 2025. The initial work includes the construction of five (5) play areas. An additional five (5) play areas will be constructed following installation of the Sky Trail system by RCI.
