Project demolishes and replaces deteriorated compressed air system components such as piping, valves and supports located in the Farragut Avenue Utility Tunnel. Project is a design build repair of the Compressed Air piping (CAIR) in the Farragut Utility Tunnel. This portion of the system is serving drydocks, piers and production facilities located in the east and central portions of the Controlled Industrial Area (CIA) of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS/IMF). Project scope provides for repairs to piping, supports, anchors and incorporates seismic bracing, mechanical repairs by replacement are to carbon steel pipe including associated distribution valves, connectors and manifold devices, site preparation includes implementation of compressed air distribution system access for equipment and personnel, safety features such as traffic control and disposal of debris generated from the removal of the deteriorated piping and associated components, hazardous abatement includes the identification, containment, removal and handling of asbestos containing materials (ACM) and debris along with lead paint,OMSI manuals, and station support for area and utility outages, including relocation of shipyard equipment and materials, lifting and other PSNS/IMF operations requirements. The project is include in the City's 2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
