Reference Number 0000391509 Purchase Type: One Time Only- Delivery Date:12/31/2025 Timnath Reservoir is an exciting open space unique to Timnath. The use of the reservoir property is available to properly permitted residents, future Timnath residents, Colorado anglers, and their guests. The property is owned by the New Cache La Poudre Reservoir Company and is leased by the Town of Timnath for recreational purposes. The Recreation Lease went into effect in 2016 and has a 15-year term, with an option to extend twice, each extension for 5 years. Timnath Reservoir has a surface area of approximately 580-600 acres with a 6-mile shoreline with a scenic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains to the west. The reservoir and open space are utilized for aquatic activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. The reservoir is a man-made water body used by the reservoir company for irrigation purposes. The reservoir water levels will fluctuate seasonally in response to irrigation demands. Town staff regulate boating and inspect for Aquatic Nuisance Species as dictated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. History and Recent Improvements: In 2016, The Town of Timnath completed a concept plan of Timnath Reservoir. The public engagement included a program survey and concept plan that has been used to guide capital projects out at Timnath Reservoir. There have been several projects completed to date as part of this effort: A large events space A swim area Boat ramp improvements (2) Hard and soft surface trails Parking A restroom facility A non-potable irrigation system 2 attendant sheds to monitor use Since the adoption of the 2016 Concept Plan, both the Reservoir and the Town have experienced significant growth and change. As a result, the Town is seeking an updated vision and plan for the site. The Town recently adopted in 2025 the Parks, recreation, open space and trails Master Plan (Master Plan). The Town included a needs assessment/priority assessment as part of the Master Plan survey which was conducted by ECC Institute. The Town wishes to use the data in that survey for the purposes of this project.
